ICE operations continue to be funded under the One Big Beautiful Bill from last year.
The Department of Homeland Security ran out of funding on Saturday after the Senate recessed without authorizing its appropriations for the remainder of 2026. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, which has been the central focus of negotiations, has continued to be funded by provisions of the One Big Beautiful Bill that was signed by President Trump last summer.
Agencies such as the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the U.S. Coast Guard, and the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) are now without funding. This partial shutdown means that Coast Guard personnel, FEMA and TSA agents are working without pay around the nation.
During the 43-day government shutdown in the fall of 2025, TSA employees and air traffic controllers began calling off work, as they are essential employees who are expected to continue operations despite missing pay. However, air traffic control falls under the Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration, which has received funding for the remainder of the fiscal year.
As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…
- For Secretary Noem and agency officials as they seek to allocate essential staff.
- For Coast Guard, FEMA, and TSA personnel as they work without pay.
- For members of Congress to come to an agreement on funding to be passed when they return to Washington.
